- More questions.

(Questions picked from the Q/A)

‘What kind of weapons do your characters have? and when will they use them?’

- Each of my characters that inhabit a spirit will have automatically owned a weapon of the spirit’s choice. Most of this book seems to deal with magic and the sorts, but when I think back to a lot of books I’ve read that dealt with magic alone, it came off as boring; I wanted action as well as magic, something epic if you get the picture /nudgenudge.

‘Will you have main characters, y’know the protagonist of the story?’

- Adfssd fdf dsffff-, of course. I actually already have them created and designed. You’ll have to wait and see about that one though;;

‘I really love the idea of your book! But where and when does this take place?’

- Another thing I lack; the ability to set a correct date and time and place without butchering up the story line.

I had wished to set this story line to have a past event and a future event. The ‘war’ in the story was based off of a battle for territory back in /somehistoricaltimeperiod/ when only animals d’welled off the land. But the time came when all of their lives ended, and the animals were no more. Most of them though, knew that the war couldn’t end because of natural causes, so they had to stay there and protect the land that they foolishly fought for. But, as you know, time comes with changes, and those changes lead to the construction of a new time period, and this one, with people!

Eventually, the spirits had noticed that this was their time to go and continue the war, using those people as ‘puppets’ to be the perfect pawns of their war. That is why the spirits of those animals decided to adopt the humans whom lived there, and thus the war had continued.

The town in which the war took place though, was hidden away so no one could find it nor invade if ever. It had evaded modernization, and had stayed the same for hundreds of years. The world around it though, continued to rapidly modernize until it was known as the ‘modernized world’.

(I think that’s enough information or it’ll soon seem like spoiling)

Spirit; Introduction.

Hi there everyone!

It feels nice to finally get the chance to open up a tumblr.com account dedicated for my book, “Spirit” (I thank everyone who contributes to this site, it’s a great convinience). As you know from my ‘small’ description on this page (http://spirit-series.tumblr.com/), I’m planning on making this book both a novel&manga. …and I know that some people might be thinking:

‘Why not make it either of the two?’

‘Why don’t you keep it original?’

‘That’s a pretty (insertnegativewordhere) idea /scoffandhairfliporsomething’

…Well, as much as I love the idea of creating a novel, I’m no professional at literature, nor would I ever have the dedication to finish something so… bland(?)

I also love the idea of creating a manga-based book, and showing off my awesome drawing skills (totallykidding) but, I’ve been down that road, and it was full of what most people call ‘art blocks’. Yes, very, very ugly.

On the other hand, there might be some people that would be thinking:

‘Awesome idea!’

‘Can’t wait to see the results!’

‘Ooooh, coooool.’

…Yeah, things like that. It was my decision to make it both novel&manga. To not only write up a story, but to illustrate it out as well. I’ve always wanted my name on a book of some sort that stated ‘author: /insertname/ illustrator: /insertnameagain/. It was just that dream, and now it might be coming true!

—-

Enough with the introduction as to what ‘Spirit’ might be formatted like;

…Let’s get on with the GOOD stuff!

(This information is based on a Q/A I made and the top questions from others.)

‘What is a spirit? Why did you decide to name it Spirit? ’

- Spirit: the nonphysical part of a person that is the seat of emotions and character; the soul. (How interesting.)

I decided to name my book ‘Spirit’ for a specific reason, most of all the /main/ characters in my book contain a spirit inside them. Not just any spirit, it’s of a specific animals that might describe their personality —- sound cool, huh?

(There are people whom have no spirit, mostly town folk)

‘Can we have a specific description of what you’d like to do with ‘Spirit’? ‘

- Sure! Of course you can. ‘Spirit’ is going to be a book describing a war that has taken place for several years. Two towns that share the land, fighting against one another for more than just acres of land. Most of the characters will go through a lot as they experience a hate/love relationship with one another. The main characters belong to what would best be described as the ‘light’ and ‘dark’ teams.
(The ‘light’ and ‘dark’ titles derive from the town’s appearance.) The town the character comes from, decides their team.

You’ll have to wait to see the rest! Thank you for reading.

Character Description; Nyx.

Profile:

Name: Nyx.                Age: 15.                          Sex: Male.

Height: 5’ 5”.             Spirit (Yes/No?): Yes.         Weapon (Yes/No?): Yes.

About:

Nyx is a young man at the age of 15 who is also a high-spirited and active character; he inhabits the spirit of a bat, …but wait, ’When you think of a bat, don’t you see a night dweller that doesn’t seem at all… active?’ Well, his spirit seems to be a contradiction, as he is the most playful character out of all the spirits. Yes, he is young, so maybe time will soon tell. But he isn’t always a high-spirited person, he can be serious, especially when he has to upload the family name, being the only child and all. …He doesn’t like the ways of a noble though, he would rather find his own way and travel on an adventure to places unknown. To summarize, he is an adventurous boy, as most would seem at a young age; but his family thinks he should man up and take over when their time has come.

Appearance:

Nyx’s hair is black, and neatly combed to a side with a little bit hanging loose. Just as most spirits of my book, he hides his ears when he’s not on battle mode or in the spirit world. Being a noble means fancy clothes, and that’s what he has to wear, even though he prefers more loose clothes to be able to run about. On his ears are piercings:

- (1) Chain earring, connecting from two parts of his ear

- (1) Cross earring

He typically wears suits, due to the ‘fancy clothes’ policy, and usually decides to wear a suit set that matches his taste, color and spirit. His suit consists of a button up shirt (plum purple) that has golden stripes, and tight black suede pants along with a silver belt and a black vest and golden tie. Oh so fancy, /fangirlsqueel/. He always his matching top hat that is also plum purple, and again, just like most spirits with items that they must carry to be able to interconnect with his spirit, are the bat wings that hang off his hat. His bat wings, also, are what remains from his spirit, being able to lift him even if they are extremely tiny in size. (Just like the others, his ‘bat’ parts don’t show 100% of the time, typically shows up in battle mode.)

Character Description; Enye.

Profile:

Name: Enye.              Age: 19.                            Sex: Female.

Height: 5’ 4”.             Spirit (Yes/No?): Yes.         Weapon (Yes/No?): Yes.

About:

Enye is a young lady at the age of 19, she is a very playful and high-spirited person; her spirit is of a dead gazelle. /gasp/ Why dead? Well, her spirit was originally a living, breathing gazelle, but before the animal granted Enye the spirit, it was killed in the spirit world, (you’ll learn more about that as the story progesses). Therefore, when Enye received the spirit, it was technically dead. The spirit of the dead gazelle is unlike other spirits; It grants Enye both graceful characteristics as well as the violent characteristics, because it was obtained through the creature that had killed the gazelle.

(IT’S LIKE A TWO FOR ONE DEAL, Ahahaha, get it? /badjoke/)

Appearance:

Enye’s hair is a dark peach/salmon color. it is naturally curly, and she leaves it in two loose pigtails. Her dress is also composed of transparent material, though, it is a half cut dress from the front. It ties together with a satin ribbon string that knots together on the side. She doesn’t wear much though; All the accessories that dangle off her body isn’t her ‘thing’. She also thinks it is easier to play with less on. She, like almost all my other characters, have an ancient relic that they must carry around in order to connect with their spirit. She carries around the skull of her spirit, which is the gazelle. Since Enye is blind in her right eye and wears a bandage around it. The last part of her outfit design is the blood marks that are found on her left leg, right eye and left cheek; they are scratches/scars developed from her spirit. All damage done to her spirit was transferred onto herself.

Character Description; Sage.

Profile:

Name: Sage.             Age: 20.                            Sex: Female.

Height: 5’ 6”.             Spirit (Yes/No?): Yes.         Weapon (Yes/No?): Yes.

About:

Sage is a young lady at the age of 20. An owl’s spirit that is aged 2,000 years inhabits her body, granting her to be an extremely intelligent person, but her life for the past 20 years has had it’s ‘ups and downs’, due her intelligence level. Her physical level is just as strong, even though she looks like a feeble girl on the outside, she is rather strong for someone so small in size. Her fighting skills makes her a great opponent, and if she can’t beat you by strength, she can beat you by mind power.

One thing about Sage is that she observes the world and judges it upon her view of it. She doesn’t trust easily either, ‘why trust, we’ll only have complexities in life if something were to happen to that thing we call trust’, is what she usually would say. She is a very strange person with a complex personality. It’s very hard to befriend her, but when you do, try not to take it for advantage! She can help in several ways, mentally and physically.

Appearance:

Sage’s hair is golden yellow with bleached highlights and a burgundy red streak (almost resembling blood). She wears a set of earrings which include:

- (1) Industrial piercing

- (3) Single earrings that inter-connect

- (1) Feather earrings (a feather from her owl spirit itself)

All of these earrings are transparent, matching along with her transparent dress. Her dress design is composed of mostly lace and loose material, cut off from the back and tied together by nothing but laces. An ancient relic that is made out of 100% wood is shaped into accessories that Sage must keep on her 24/7 to be able to connect with her Owl Spirit. She attaches one to her dress and the other she keeps as a hair clip. Both of them are made out of the same material, and there is nothing like these two anywhere. The last part of her appearance is her wings; they expand 6 feet outward when they are out fully. They illuminate a golden glow and makes Sage look almost like an angel. Sage only puts her wings to use when she casts spells and fights, other than that, her wings stay put in the form of a tattoo on her back.

- ‘What Inspired you?’

(Question picked from the Q/A)

Inspiration, huh? Well, I didn’t really have any inspirations in particular.

Well, I consider myself an artist, and I find myself using up any spare time I have drawing. But, if you mean, when and why did I begin with the idea of ‘Spirit’, I’d have to say not that long ago, I aspire to improve my art skills everyday, specifically, with my /regular/ style. I started sketching at first, got the ‘hang’ of it, and started drawing until I created something. It was a female (bust-shot), I had asked some friends for tips on what I could change/add/etc. After all their amazing help, I finished off the drawing. I usually don’t like what I draw, but don’t most artist assume what they create isn’t good enough? That’s usually the case for me, but for some reason, I reaaaaaaallly liked this one. Soon after, I took a liking to her, and decided to name her. …Hours and hours of searching up names, none of them fit her character (in my opinion), I had drawn her as if she was feeling lonesome, or missing something. I thought about it for a while, and after a bit of /keyboardsmashingthroughwebpages/, I ended up naming her ‘Sage’. A person of wisdom, and a lot of it.

I eventually grew really attached to her, like, really attached. So attached that every time I caught myself doodling, it was her. That design, that character, it never left my mind. I soon made a character profile for her, when I had a/an (brilliant) idea. Why not make a book?

…And that’s how it happened.
